Norb Oesch, D.Min.

Executive Leader and Founder, Pastoral Leadership Institute (retired)

The Reverend Doctor Norbert C Oesch served as lead pastor in San Antonio, Texas, Bakersfield, California, and Orange, California. In 1998 he became the founding executive leader of the Pastoral Leadership Institute (PLI), a leadership training program for pastors and their wives dedicated to nurturing missional leaders. In this capacity he served as lead in developing a four-year leadership training curriculum which has trained over 1200 pastors and spouses since 1999. Beginning in 2006 he expanded the ministry of PLI internationally, now training pastors and leaders in nine countries worldwide with over 600 leaders engaged.

In addition to his teaching leadership principles through PLI International and with Lutherans in Southeast Asia, a theological training program that leads to ordination, he has held leadership positions on many local, district and national levels. His visionary skills help form local and international ministries, namely, the In-service Training Program for Hispanic Ministry, Pastoral Growth and Support for his denomination, the Lutheran Family Association, Compassion Vietnam Association, Compassion LA, and currently on the Board for Lutheran Indian Ministries.
